All signs come with expert design & mock ups as standard and you can also purchase additional design services from the branding studio for a really eye catching and consistent look across your whole business.
(Almost) No job too tall
My trusty little scaffolding tower comes with me to get to those hard to reach places (up to 3.5m) & sloped pavements are no problem with it’s adjustable feet.
How custom signs are made in the Small Type Sign Shop…
1. A sign’s message is more than just words…
That’s why most projects start with a good old chat!
As well as discussing the practical considerations, like access, installation and timelines I want to get a feel for your business, brand and location to create the brief for your new business sign.
2. Custom design that goes beyond the cookie cutter approach…
Custom design has the potential to be more than using your brand colours or fonts. As a skilled lettering artist (where appropriate) I will hand draw your design, adding custom flourishes and effects to really make your sign sing.
If you don’t have a logo, I also create brand identities for businesses and would be delighted to help with this too!

3. You’ve got to see it to believe (in) it…
Signage is something you want to get right, making it an exciting and nerve wracking task, especially if you don’t quite know what you’re going to get.
I always create a mock-up of the design, directly onto photos of your shop, with several revisions included, so you can let go of that anxiety, get excited and get on!
4. Sharing is caring…
Once the design is decided, it’s time to get painting.
If I’m making your sign in the studio, I want you to enjoy the process as much as I do so I will be sure to take lots of photos and videos to send you along with an update to let you know that your sign is nearly ready.
5. Sit back and admire your new sign…
If you’re in Sussex or Kent I can deliver and install your new sign or paint the sign directly onto your wall or shopfront.
If you are further afield we can arrange a courier to deliver to your door.
Once your sign is safely in your hands (or on your walls) all that’s left is to sit back and admire it whilst it gets to work attracting your new customers!
